I’m a fourth year student at Kenyatta university taking bachelor of pharmacy.
Being a RESPEKT volunteer has been an amazing opportunity to pass knowledge by training teenagers on matters of SRHR. .I am a strong activist of reproductive health and I believe that the rights of women and girls is the unfinished business of 21st century.
I think sex education should include enhancing girl’s self esteem and give her the tools to say ‘no’ and ultimately ‘yes’when the time is right .You cannot have maternal health without reproductive heath and reproductive health includes contraception and family planning and access to legal and safe heath care.As a RESPEKT volunteer I am dedicated to ensuring reproductive health and freedom for all.
Being a volunteer has also helped me gain knowledge from my peers and also from the students as well.It has enabled me to interact, network and meet new friends from in and out of Kenya.I am very much proud of being a volunteer at project RESPEKT.
Apart from RESPEKT, I am also the vice president of pharmacy students association of Kenya which aims to foster unity among the pharmacy students in the country through a common platform of engagement.
