Conceptualizing SRHR as a shared responsibility between men and women while advancing male engagement in SRHR
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right is an essential aspect of overall health and well-being for individuals and communities. Conceptualizing SRHR as a shared responsibility between men and women acknowledges the importance of promoting gender equality and engaging men as active partners in achieving sexual and reproductive health for all. While women have traditionally been the focus of SRHR interventions, men’s engagement is critical in addressing challenges such as unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and gender-based violence. Male engagement in SRHR means creating opportunities for men to learn about and participate in discussions about reproductive health, as well as promoting healthy attitudes and behaviors towards sexuality and gender relations.
