Improving school-based and out-of-school comprehensive sexuality education for adolescents and young people
Adolescence is a period of biological, physical, and cognitive changes and is accompanied by unique sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs. Adolescents are resilient, resourceful, and energetic. Cognisant of the competing demands on adolescents, efforts should be made to offer opportunities to build on their capacities to promote their empowerment in this process. They can expand access to quality SRH services for the wider community as well as for their peers at the community level. In addition, they can play a critical role in coordination mechanisms to ensure that adolescent needs are considered from the outset of needs.
